Animoto
Book trailers are great ideas to get students engaged in their books. They provide an opportunity for critical thinking while allowing them to express themselves creatively. Animoto is a great resource for students to use when making book trailers.
For my book trailer, I chose one of my favorite books, The One and Only Ivan. Ivan is an easygoing gorilla that lives at the Big Top Mall and Video Arcade. He becomes accustomed to humans by watching them through the glass walls of his domain.
Ivan loves to watch TV shows and to be with his friends Stella, an elderly elephant, and Bob, a stray dog. Ivan also loves to express himself through art.
Then he meets Ruby, a baby elephant taken from his family, and she makes Ivan see their home - and his art - through new eyes. When Stella dies, Ivan makes a promise to her to help find freedom for Ruby. When Ruby arrives, change comes with her, and it is up to Ivan to make it a change for the better.

QR codes are another great tool for the classroom. They provide students and easy way to access more resources related to a subject. They can contain text, links, and much more. QR codes are safe to use and promote independence for students. There are so many ways to implement QR codes in education.
- read louds
